Nu Rho History

The Legacy Continues . . .

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, The Nu Rho Chapter, was the first Black Greek organization chartered at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. The Nu Rho Chapter was chartered on January 17, 1981 by nine phenomenal women. Since its founding, 34 lines have been initiated through Nu Rho.

The Nu Rho objectives are synonymous with those of the sorority. The chapter purses its objectives through people-oriented programs designed to serve a large portion of Greensboro's communities.

  • Adopt-A-High school Senior

  • Fall into Beauty

  • AKAdemic Study Night

  • Grace Community Food Drive
